KOCKS: SUCCESSFUL RELOCATION OF CONTAINER CRANES

An impressive spectacle took place in the Port of Hamburg on Wednesday, 05.05.2010. The leading actors: Three Kocks Boxer 5000 (container cranes of the super post Panamax type). They had to be transported from the erection site at berth 10 at Burchardkai to their final site of operation at berth 8. Four heavy-duty trans-porters with 36 axles were required to move the Boxers each weighing 1,120 tons. The distance of approx. 800 m was covered in 1½ hours per each crane giant. Owing to intensive planning and optimal coordination with the customer, the relocation ran smoothly.
