KOCKS: DIGGER SUCCESSFULLY RECONSTRUCTED

When a Kocks ship unloader working for the HKM steelworks crashed into an excavation in 2008, all the experts at first thought: Total write-off. But after closer examination, the digger of type 1200 proved, for the most part, to be reparable. HKM decided to salvage the re-usable parts and allow Kocks to repair the machine.

In fact, in the course of the reconstruction, some additional parts (e.g. a pylon) had to be replaced or rebuilt, respectively, in addition to the planned work. However, this was not a huge problem. In March 2009 assembly could begin. In October 2009 test running had already started and at the end of October 2009 the rebuilt unloader was successfully handed over. Since then, the digger is excavating once more, to everyone’s complete satisfaction.
