KIROW

KIROW

Messrs. Liebig, crane manufacturer, and Unruh, expert in continuous conveyor equipment, belong to those engineers who founded economically successful companies at the end of the 19th century. They founded "Unruh and Liebig" in 1887, the core of Kirow of today. After the Second World War, this company became at first "Unruh und Liebig-Transmasch" until it received the "name-of-honor" S.M. Kirow. The company had been integrated in the socialist TAKRAF group from 1958 whose logo was resplendent from the 1970ies on the Kirow products being first-class even in those days.

After the reunification, Kirow became independent again under the name "Schwermaschinenbau Kirow Leipzig GmbH" and started business step by step  as expert in the field of railway cranes of a new generation.

Today Kirow is well-known and appreciated due to their highly movable and elegant special cranes and multifunctional transporters.

Kirow is the  world market leader in the field of railway cranes and slag port carriers.
