ARDELT: CARGO-HANDLING GIANT FOR RHENUS-MIDGARD

The huge scale of the crane, for example, can be judged from the size of this component. This is one part of the machinery house platform.The platform has a dead weight of 83 t and will be the heaviest individual section of the crane that has to be transported. Because the manufacturing site in Eberswalde is provided with ideal transport links, this means that such a colossus can be transported in one piece.

ARDELT has won the order to supply two kangaroo cranes of type Tukan 3000-55 K for the unloading berth (Niedersachsenbrücke) in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Rhenus and also Niedersachsenports are investing around € 90 mil. at this location. Part of this investment comprises the two giants of the crane world, which are currently being pre-assembled in Wilhemlshaven. The cranes have a lifting capacity of 63 t and an outreach radius of 55 m. The “free digging” capacity is just under 3600 t/h.
